Snohomish County Energy Assistance Program

Snohomish County Energy Assistance Program

The Energy Assistance Program provides one-time per heating season assistance in paying the heat bill for eligible households. Helps with all heat fuel types (oil, natural gas, wood, propane, electric). Provides grants ranging from $25-$750 (depending on income, household size, type of housing, and heat bill). Repairs heating systems.

It is not necessary to have a past due balance or be shut-off to get help. Assistance is usually provided between November 15 and April 1. Households with Puget Sound Energy natural gas can be served all year.

When you call the telephone number listed below, you will be requested to schedule an appointment. This may require a wait of several weeks. Documentation is also required and you can determine the requirement by calling the telephone number listed below. The person requesting the assistance will have the option of going to the office early in the day without an appointment and waiting until someone cancels an appointment, does not show up, or if there is a gap in the schedule. The wait may last all day, but the office claims that an opening will usually be available unless there are many people waiting.
