United Way of King County & United Way of Snohomish CountyUnited Way of King County (UWKC) partners with other non-profit organizations to create results and solutions that improve people's lives. There are a variety of resources to help non-profit organizations increase their effectiveness and enhance their capacity to deliver services. UWKC offers training for nonprofit staff and volunteers, technical assistance, governance & management resources, wage & benefit survey, Ready to Rent, other services and can become a grantor. UWKC also provides emergency shelter, transitional housing and eviction prevention services, funds numerous food banks and meal programs, enables low-income people to increase their financial assets through its Individual Development Account program, makes free tax preparation services available to increase the number of working families that take advantage of all available tax credits, and educates homeless and low-income people about the rights and responsibilities of being a tenant through its Ready to Rent program.
