Kent Multi-Services CenterThe Kent Multi-Services Center provides basic needs services for residents of South King County. It operates a shelter, transitional housing, and low-cost housing programs. It also offers employment, energy assistance and literacy services. YWCA of Seattle/King County/Snohomish CountyThe YWCA of Seattle · King County · Snohomish County serves nearly 60,000 women and families every year with programs to end homelessness, create jobs, care for children and youth, and prevent violence. Without a home, it's difficult for employers to reach job seekers for an interview. Without a job, it's nearly impossible to get a home. Not having both is a crisis for women and families. The YWCA works with women in need to address multiple challenges and move toward independence, self-sufficiency, safety and dignity for them their families. Its programs focus on these key areas: Clothing Services, Children, Youth & Families, Domestic Violence & Violence Prevention, Employment & Self-Sufficiency, Health Care Access and Housing & Shelter. Refugee Federation Service CenterThe Refugee Federation Service Center provides employment services. It provides a variety of job training and employment services at no cost to refugee and immigrant clients. As a Multi-Service Center, the Refugee Federation offers programs designed to move refugees and immigrants from unemployment, underemployment and welfare into self-sufficiency. It offers programs including bi-lingual case management services, services for adults that address immigration assistance, bilingual counseling, housing assistance, referral services and employment services, and services for youth who need counseling to reduce potentially harmful behavior. Refugee Assistance ProgramThe Refugee Assistance Program (RAP) is a special ministry of the Archdiocesan Housing Authority (AHA), an agency of Catholic Community Services (CCS) of Western Washington. The mission of the Refugee Assistance Program is "To assist refugees, immigrants and their families in attaining self-sufficiency through advocacy, education and employment. This is achieved through resettlement services, employment assistance, English language instruction referral, citizenship preparation, and youth and family support." The Refugee Assistance Program is located at St. Edward Parish in Seattle’s Rainier Valley. |
